Bariloche, summit of Patagonia.

Summit of Patagonia it is not just a commercial ad of this beautiful city it is an unbiased reality. Bariloche is the most important tourist city of Patagonia, (this mythical region located at the south end of Argentina) it is also the entrance to Patagonia bordering at the West with the Andes mountain range and the Atlantic ocean at the East side.

Bariloche is part of a national park of unmatchable beauty located at the South shore of the majestic Nahuel Huapi lake. The city is unavoidable destination for those visiting the region. Bariloche has the most important ski resort in Latin America with a special characteristics, it has an amazing lakes and mountains views from its slopes.

Cerro Catedral ski resort base station it is at 1030 meters above sea level which has a wide option of services including varied lodging facilities. One more characteristics confirms its worldwide importance and quality of services offered by cerro Catedral ski resort: it is member of the Leading Mountain Resorts of the World association along with Vail (Colorado, USA), Queenstown (New Zeland) and Val Gardena (Italy). Also, Bariloche is Sister city of Aspen (USA) since 2002.

Cerro Catedral:

The Cerro Catedral ski resort has more than 100 km of slopes with trails and ski run distributed into 53 ski runs with several levels of difficulty for different styles of skiing including freestyle, off piste skiing and snowboarding. It has 40 ski lifts carrying more that 30.000 people per hour.

The Cerro Catedral ski resort has wet and abundant snow from June to September. The annual snowfall at base station is 1,50 m and 2,5 m at the top of the mountain. The average snow layer at base station is 0,5 m (20 inches), 1m ( 40 inches) at the middle section 1,30 (32 inches) at the top. The base station is at 1030 meters above sea level and the top of the mountain is at 2388 m.

Regarding to the snow production, there are 46 snow machines (cannons) distributed between 1200 meter above sea level and base station. This fact ensures snow on the whole of the mountain during the ski season. There is an expansion plan to widen the area covered by snow machines which will cover 42.500 square meters.

Escuela Xtreme location

Our ski school has two buildings on Catedral ski resort base station. One is located at the SKI TOTAL SPORT CENTER building located at the first corner of Catalina Reynal park
